This is apperantly the worlds most popular online game. Funny thing
is, I have never heard of it! (anyone?)
In South Korea 2 million people have active "Lineage" accounts (of a
total population of 46 mill)... And get this...violence among players
are so common that the government has made a new term for it -
"Offline PK" (player killings). Gangsters show up at the game
publishers office to get personal info... to get revenge offline. You
can read the article in Time Magazine. Or at time.com if you have a
subscription.

I got curious, so I found some more info on ignvault
(http://rpgvault.ign.com/features/intelligence/lineage.shtml) It seems
they have 8 million users, not just 2, and hold another record with
110.000 logged in at once. Most players are from the far east, so
thats probably why I never heard about it. Its also quite old...
released in 1997 it seems... An american version just came out of
beta, but quite frankly I think people will want more flashy graphics
these days... The download is over 250mb, so I think I'll pass. The
price is also high at $15 pr month... Now... take a moment to think
about that... It's been out since 1997. 8 million users. 15 USD pr
month. No wonder "everybody" is making MMORPG's now :)

website, not time. I suddenly realised the last post almost sounded
